Immanuel Family,

Due to the dangerously cold temperatures and abundant snowfall across the area this weekend, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel in-person worship services this Sunday, January 25, 2026.

The safety of our congregation is our top priority—roads, parking lots, and sidewalks remain hazardous, with wind chills expected to stay dangerously low. We appreciate everyone's understanding as we prioritize care for one another during this extreme weather.

Though we won't gather in person, we invite you to watch the video below as Pastor Braun has prepared a special video sermon for us.

Accompanying the sermon is a family discussion document with questions to help you engage personally, or as a household.

Please stay safe indoors, check on neighbors or those who may need help (especially the elderly or those without power), and keep lifting one another up in prayer.

Dear Church Family,
Due to the weather forecast for this coming weekend, we will have one combined church service at 10:00 a.m.

Please note that there will be no education hour this Sunday.

For those who are unable to attend in person or prefer to stay home due to the weather, the service will be live-streamed so you can join us online.

Join us this Saturday, May 31st, from 10am-12pm at Bentley Park Splash pad in Bixby. We will have fun, fellowship, and snacks. Bring a friend!

Children Sunday school, including Confirmation, is canceled this Sunday, May 25th.

Adult Sunday will meet in the gym

Immanuel Youth Ministry WINGS (Wednesday night program) has a small break before we start summer Bible Study.  We will meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of June and July from 6-8pm. See you June 4th!

Please join us tonight for Good Friday's Tenebrae service tonight at 6:45 pm.

Also, we have canceled the Easter Egg Hunt for tomorrow, April 19th, due to the risk of extreme weather. We will be passing out bags of candy to all kids after the Easter worship service.

Tonight is Immanuel’s Seder Meal.
The ceremony includes reading, prayers, and eating special foods.
Reminder: This is not a full meal.
The Seder Meal will be held in the gym, and we will promptly begin at 5:45pm.

At the conclusion of the seder meal, we will move into the sanctuary to begin the Maundy Thursday worship service at 6:45 pm

POSTPONED due to weather!
Church Work Day will take place on Saturday, April 12 beginning at 9am.  Meet on the Annex porch. Wear painting clothes and bring your gardening gloves. We hope to see you there!

tissue paper, pipe-cleaners, etc., please bring them with you!
This event is open for all kids 0-12yrs of age, and their parent(s).

Due to the inclement weather, all activities at Immanuel Lutheran church and Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy are canceled for today, February 19th.

Also,
The Card Ministry group scheduled for Thursday, February 20 has been postponed until Monday, February 24. Same times and location.

This Saturday is our 2nd Immanuel family fun day!
Veterans Park in Jenks from 10-12. We will be doing a scavenger hunt. Pack a lunch and come have some fun and fellowship!

Don't forget to register for this Sunday's, September 15th, All church picnic. It's from 4-7 pm at the Haikey Creek Tri-Plex. There will be games, music, food, a corn hole tournament, and lost lots of fellowship with our Lutheran brothers and sisters from the Tulsa area.

Don't forget to bring a side or dessert to share and a folding chair. See you Sunday!

It is hard to believe that the school year is already upon us.  I pray that you were able to find times of joy and relaxation.  Some of the highlights for me were all of our young people involved in two work camps, a mission trip to Cincinnati, all the children and volunteers who participated in VBS, and our kickoff to Summer BBQ.  I also want to say thank you for your faithfulness in worship this Summer, our attendance was noticeably higher this Summer than in previous years.  That being said, here is what is coming up at Immanuel:
 
1.        Rally Day is this Sunday.  During worship we will be blessing all of our students and teachers for this upcoming year.  Afterward is our Ministry Fair.  This is a great opportunity to learn about and sign up to participate in the various ministry opportunities we have at Immanuel.
2.        Please note that school starts back the Academy will be back in session on Wednesday, August 14th.
3.        Our adult education class on the “Rise and Fall of the Judges” will focus on Judges chapter 15 (Samson defeats the Philistines) and possibly move into chapter 16 (Samson and Delilah).  Please feel free to read ahead.
4.        Many of our musical ministries have begun rehearsal, however, there is always room for you to participate, talk to Chris Winston on how you can participate.
5.        August 21st will serve as our Wednesday evenings kickoff for the school year with the following starting back up:
a.        WINGs “Back to School Bash” from 5pm to 8pm. (6th through 12th grade)
b.        Women’s Small Group Bible Study from 6pm to 7:30pm, they are looking at a study entitled “Leaning on Jesus, a study on God’s Strength”.
c.        John Brigham is leading a Bible Study from 6pm to 7:30pm on “The Gospel of Luke”, this study is for all.
6.        Jr. Lutheran’s will be starting up after Labor Day and Children’s Choir will resume in September.

Here is what is coming up at Immanuel:
 
1.        The gym floor is done!  When using the gym please try to make sure your shoes are free of debris to help keep it in good condition.
2.        ILCA is looking for potential host families for our international students.  If you are interested in receiving more information on what is included in this process please contact Headmaster Rogers at jake.rogers@icaba.org.
3.        Rally Day will be August 11.  As a part of our kick-off to the school year we hope to unveil the new vision/guiding statement.  The biblical foundations for this statement will be unpacked in the weeks following.  Also as a part of Rally day, we will be having our annual ministry fair.  This is a great opportunity to sign up to participate in our various ministries at Immanuel.
4.        During the adult education hour at 9am in the gym, we will be continuing our series, “The Rise and Fall of the Judges”.  If you want to read ahead please read Judges Chapter 12, “Jephthah and Ephraim.
5.        Finally during worship at 10am our sermon will be focusing on “Covenants”, we hope to see you there.
