We Look Forward To Meeting You!
Welcome to Immanuel Lutheran Church. We’ve put together some information here that anticipates and tries to briefly answer some of the questions you may have prior to visiting our church for the first time:
It's important to us that you feel welcome when visiting. We hope our atmosphere will help you feel relaxed and comfortable. The music and worship are built around Biblical themes that are timeless. We are glad to have you join us in worship! You will be greeted and welcomed.
No matter your family dynamics, you're welcome at Immanuel Lutheran Church and we're excited for you to consider being a part of our church family! Our intent is to serve the whole family. We especially love having children worship with us. If you and your child must leave, we have an unstaffed nursery room available for you and your infants-two-year-olds, but please hurry back. Like Jesus, we want your children in the Liturgy, not out.
The Divine Service
As Lutherans, we understand worship differently. When we attend church, it isn’t something we do for God; instead, it’s where we go to receive the gifts He has for us. We describe each of our services as “the Divine Service” (DS 1, DS2, etc.), but this phrase comes from the German word Gottesdienst, “God serves us.” We receive His love, His forgiveness, and His teaching in church, and then we go out to share that with the world.
