Care Ministries

An intentional ministry committed to pursuing, loving, and meeting the needs of first-time visitors until they become disciples of Jesus Christ. Contact Shiela Derreverre.


Confirmation begins in the fourth grade on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour (10-10:45 am); during this year students will focus on Luther’s Small Catechism and prepare for early Communion. First Communion takes place on Easter Vigil.  In the fifth grade, students will do an overview of the New Testament. In the sixth grade students do an overview of the Old Testament. In the second week of September of their seventh grade year, the students will participate in a Confirmation Retreat at Camp Lutherhoma where they will take their Confirmation exam as well as participate in a ropes course to build team building and trust with the other members of the group. Tuesdays with God

Tuesday morning Bible study begins with a coffee time at 9:30 and then lively Bible study, sharing, and fellowship from 10:00 to 11:30. Contact Virginia Herout.

Counseling and Stephen Ministry

We also have trained Stephen Ministers who offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour. Contact Joe Kuhlmann

Craft Circle

Meets year round on Thursday mornings at 9:15 (except in December). Activities include craft items for annual bazaar and quilt tying for Lutheran World Relief. Contact Trisha Heisterberg

5:00-5:30 pm Music Makers! This is our little kid’s choir, age 4 years to 2nd grade. Led by Molly Goltl 

5:00-5:45 pm Schola Cantorum. This is our children’s choir for students entering grades 3-7. Led by Rebecca Winston 

5:30-6:00 pm Dinner for everyone in Luther Hall

1st Wednesday of the month is Bible Study for all ages focusing on the Ten Commandments

Cornerstone Membership Classes

This series of classes is held three or more times each year on Sundays to prepare people for membership or to provide a basic doctrinal review. Dates and times are published in advance. Transferring Lutherans may also attend this class. Contact Pastor Wilke.


Hilltoppers gather once a month for fellowship – an excursion, a potluck, a speaker, a musical group – always something to interest persons over 55. All ages are welcome! Contact Marilyn Johnson & Ray Weygand

Wings / Teen Group

Wednesday Christian Education and activities during the school year for teens grades 7-12. Dinner, Bible study, recreation, and worship all happen during Wednesday nights or “Midweek Bible Study”. The teens meet on Sunday afternoons and attend various conferences during the year. Contact Carrie Ann Swaim.

Music Ministries

Groups include Adult Choir (high school – Adult – 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.), Schola Cantorum choir (3rd grade – 7th grade – 5:00-5:45 p.m.) and Music Makers (4 years to 2nd grade – 5:00-5:45 p.m.), instrumental ensemble, and hand bells.
