Read Genesis 2:2-3. God’s story is the history of love. His story reveals how He created everything perfect for His people to enjoy. God’s story is the history of forgiveness, for soon after creation the apples of His eye turned sour with sin. Even while they were sinners without a clue as to what would happen next, God forgave them. God’s story is a history of promises and promise-keeping. He promised a Savior who would bring humanity back into God’s image, and He fulfilled that promise on a day historians call Christmas. God’s story is one of sacrifice, for He came to earth in a form we humans could understand. He suffered, died, and was buried. But God’s story is also one of victory because He rose from the grave, and He rose from the earth into the heavens where he remains our powerful Creator and Savior. God may have rested on the seventh day, but he hasn’t rested since. He daily renews and strengthens our faith. The comfort we get from knowing that God is still active helps us rest assured that His story will continue throughout history.
